People who commit suicide are selfish?

Hello,

Life changes, accidents, illnesses or chemical imbalances etc.
Surely as this is regarded as a mental illness this means that they have no capacity to think that far ahead.
Is it not selfish to force someone to stay alive so that we don't suffer a loss?
Treating the survivor with such contrmpt surely puts them back into that negative mind set again?
Discuss but please consider that there is likely to be very differing opinions.
Please help.
